The Centre’s strategy also includes capacity-building to empower Human Rights activists, conflict resolution practitioners, journalists and media practitioners such as training on CwC, HRJ and PJ. For example, engaging citizens in peacebuilding through CwC enables a bottom-up reconstruction process that can lead to a more sustainable peace.

This communicative approach goes beyond merely involving local media. It includes, amongst others, the idea of working with communities through their structures and local organisations. Communicating with Communities can be crucial in preventing further conflict: the element of communication permits participation and feedback that is needed to strengthen relationships, trust and dialogue.
